Privacy notice

Last updated 2 October 2026

Practical Allyship is a series of publications by Bernard Petter, a sole trader (ABN 73 521 325 586) in Highton, Victoria. This notice explains what personal information I collect through this website and the store, why, who else handles it, and how you can see, correct or delete it. I follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.

What I collect

If you ask for the free sample: your email address, and the date and way you gave consent. Nothing else.

If you buy: your name, email address, what you bought and the payment record, collected by Payhip, the store. At checkout you may also choose to answer three short questions (who you are buying for, where you heard about the series, and your sector).

When you visit the site: Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel record pages viewed, rough location, device and browser, using cookies. They do not give me your name or email.

What I never collect

Nothing about the people you care for or support. Please do not include client stories or case details in any message or feedback.

Nothing that records whether you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. I do not ask, guess or tag it.

Feedback from First Nations reviewers and co-facilitators stays theirs: it is held only with their consent, never quoted in marketing without it, and removed on request.

Your email address is never uploaded to Meta or any other platform to target advertising.

I never buy, borrow or scrape email lists.

Why I collect it

To send you the sample you asked for, and then occasional emails about the Practical Allyship series, but only if you confirmed your address.

To deliver what you buy, answer your questions and keep the records the tax office requires.

To understand which pages are useful and which advertising works, in total numbers.

Who else handles it

MailerLite sends the sample and the emails. Payhip runs the store and processes payments, with its payment partners. Google (Analytics) and Meta (the Pixel) measure site visits. Framer hosts the website.

Some of these services store information outside Australia. I only use them to run this site and store, and none of them is allowed to sell your information on my behalf.

Emails and unsubscribing

You only join the list by entering your email and then confirming it from your inbox. Every email names me as the sender and carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away and always within five working days, and costs nothing.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Email hello@practicalallyship.com.au and I will tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, within 30 days. Purchase records I must keep for tax are kept for the period the law requires, then deleted.

Questions and complaints

Email hello@practicalallyship.com.au. I will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
